C and O Canal Trip

Itinerary
Friday, May 31
4pm- Meet at the church
4:30-7pm- Drive to the campground Brunswick Family Campground.   CAMP INFO HERE
7pm - whenever- Set up camp, run shuttles eat dinner etc

Sat- Sun
Bike, camp and have fun

Sun
 Estimated time returning 4pm, this can vary A LOT depending on trail conditions, traffic etc.

Cost
$20.00 per person

Menu
Friday Dinner- Burgers and chips
Friday snack- Assorted Snack cakes

Sat Breakfast- Pancakes and sausage
Sat Lunch- Deli meat sandwiches on the trail
Sat Dinner- Spaghetti
Sat Snack- Dutch oven cinnamon rolls

Sun Breakfast- Cereal and milk
Sun lunch- Tortilla Thangz, (Peanut Butter and jelly with choc. chips and or banana ) on the trail.

Gear Checklist
Bicycle in working order (at least to start!! We do carry tools for basic repairs)
A big cushioned seat (Not required but makes for more comfortable riding)
Backpack or bike paniers ( You can carry water, snacks of your choice etc)
Clothes
Sleeping bag
sleeping mat (we have extras at the scout room if you need to borrow them)
Toiletries (there are showers at the campground)
Tent (bring your own or we can provide them)
Sunscreen and bug spray
Medications if needed
Helmet (kids are required, adults is at your discretion)
Camp chairs for lounging around at camp

Feel free to bring your own snacks or meals if you don't like the menu, have dietary restrictions etc.

Rec the Alleghenies:
When: May 11th
Where: Greenhouse Park
Time: 11 am- 3 Pm
What: We will have a display that includes dutch oven cooking and primitive fire starting techniques.
           This is an event to showcase outdoor activities in the Laurel Highlands

Flags on Veterans graves
When: May 11th
Where: Meet at BiLo parking lot in Windber
Time: 9:30 am - TBD
What: We have been asked to send some volunteers to help put flags on veterans graves at Berkey                  Cemetery.


PLEASE RSVP BY TEXT OR BY REMIND TO LET ME KNOW WHICH YOU CAN OR WILL ATTEND!! I ONLY NEED 4 PEOPLE AT GREENHOUSE, 2 FROM 11-1 AND 2 FROM 1-3, THE REST PLEASE GO HELP WITH FLAGS!!

Saturday May 18th:
Stonyfest
When: Friday May 17th, setup and selling firewood
            Saturday May 18th, cooking and selling breakfast in the AM, Cooking and selling Dinner in                the pm.
Where: Greenhouse Park
What: I need 2 adults to be in charge as I will be out of town for a wedding. We will also need at                   least 4 kids per meal to help cook, serve, take money etc.

PLEASE RSVP BY TEXT OR REMIND IF YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP OR WHAT SHIFT YOUR BOYS WOULD WANT TO BE AT THE FOOD TENT.

What: Flags on graves at Grandview cemetery
When: Meeting time TBD

The cost will be 15-20 dollars per person. As we get closer to DC the logistics for camping are becoming more difficult so I need to get a count ASAP so I can work out all the details!!
