Academy Day, learn about the military academies!!

Time: 6pm on the 18th to 7 pm on the 19th

Where: Greenhouse Park

Comments: We will once again be selling firewood, and also doing a pancake breakfast and spaghetti dinner. I will have a sign up sheet for food donations coming shortly.

Pinewood Derby

When: May 26th

Time 2pm

Where: Dans House

Comments:

Rules and regulations will be forthcoming but there will be an unlimited class so to speak, get your crazy ideas ready to go!!!

LHHT Day hike 2

When: Sunday June 3rd

C&O Canal trip 1

When: June 8, 9 ,10

Where: We will meet at the church after school and set off from there.

Section: Hancock MD to Sheperdstown WV, overnight in Williamsport MD, 52 miles

Comments:

We will leave Friday and go to Hancock, run shuttles etc and spend the night. Hit the trail in the morning and ride to our camp, spend the night, hit the trail in the am and ride to Sheperdstown and then return home.

Comments:

We will be touring Gettysburg and various sites around the battlefields. Details will be coming as they are made.

British Scouts

Comments:

Details and plans are being made but will include trips to a curve game, kennywood and more.

Shooting Camp

C&O Canal trip 2

Where: We will meet at the church after school and set off from there.

Section: Sheperdstown,WV overnight in Leesburg VA, ONWARD TO DC!! 73 miles

Comments:

We will leave Friday and go to Sheperdstown, run shuttles etc and spend the night. Hit the trail in the morning and ride to our camp, spend the night, hit the trail in the am and ride to VICTORY!!

Overnighter this friday, eagle court of honor saturday

Overnighter Friday

All of the new scouts and most of the current scouts need camping nights and need to spend a night in a tent that they pitched, cook 2 meals and more.

We will have an overnighter at the scout church this Friday into Saturday to help fulfill some of these requirements!

When: Friday March 23rd. 6pm to Saturday morning at 9 am

Jake Law Eagle court of honor

Jake Law will have his eagle court of honor this Sunday, March 25th at 2 pm. It is at the church where we meet.

No meeting tonight

Camping Trip for Saturday

Here are the details for the overnighter this Saturday.

Where: We will meet at the 271 trailhead parking lot

When: 5pm Saturday and returning around 9 am sunday

Cost: 5.00

I will join the group with the new scouts at the lean tos as soon as blue and gold is over.

Equipment:

zero degree rated sleeping bag

sleeping mat

mess kit and utensils

flashlight

Dress in layers, thermals, then pants and shirt, then snow pants and jacket.

Warm boots

Gloves

Hat that covers your ears

2017 in review!

Parents Meeting Notes:

Finances:
We voted to continue with 5 dollar monthly dues and pay for activities individually

Everyone was given the opportunity to see what they owe, if anything.

A friends of scouting presentation was given.

If anyone has questions about finances, what they owe, or would like to give to friends of scouting contact Paul Miller at 243-6320

Activities for next year:
We set a tentative list of activities for next year including a trip to Gettysburg, caving, shooting camp, hosting British scouts for a week in August, C&O canal bike trip, snowboarding/skiing, cross country skiing, either canoeing or sailing and lots more!! Should be a good year!

We set an amount of $1500 to explore looking for a sailboat, or a couple of small sailboats.
